P3 Photodesign Project

  1. Description: This a Photo design project that I did for my Visual media class. We were asked to take a proper photo incorporating the principals of focus, composition, and lighting into taking a quality image.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): I first took the picture using a simple 14 megapixel point and shoot camera. Using Photoshop I was able to edit the image and bring greater clarity to the shot. Changing saturation and vibrance of the colors, sharpening the needed fine lines, and resizing it to a workable size. Then, still using photoshop, I was able to create the design above picking a split complimentary color scheme for the design. The photo fit well within the color scheme.
  3. Message: I was communicating a more warm and gentle feel. The message was aimed more towards those with a desire for baking and to learn about it.
  4. Audience: Anybody that wants to learn about baking. Mostly women 20 – 35
  5. Top Thing Learned: The importance having adequate layers to be able to properly edit the design.
  6. Color scheme and color names: Split complimentary with Yellow, Violet, and Green
  7. Title Font Name & Category: Savoye LET Plain – Decorative
  8. Copy Font Name & Category: Rockwell Regular – Slab Serif
  9. Thumbnail of original, unedited image inserted

  1. Hi Adam. I think your alignment, proximity and repetition were great! I also liked the fonts you used. They go so well with theme! I think the split complementary you used would be green, violet and brick, instead of yellow, which can be achieved with the golden cupcakes. You also could have cut the thing behind the counter with the shift + F5 tool.

  2. Adam I really like your work! The color scheme is perfect for baking they are not strong or over powering they are a great balance. The lighting in the picture is really great with the natural light that reflects off the mixer and then also the light in the room. Really great job!

  3. Adam, great job here! I really like the Laker inspired color scheme you have going! Seriously though, the color scheme is blended very well and it’s very inviting. The kitchen aid really pops and you did a wonderful job enhancing the image to obtain that contrast. Very nicely done.
